After having had good decent sleep and my yoghurt for breakfast I repacked the pannier (toiletries were always at the bottom cause ... well that's how it was) and was ready to head off from there. Left just after 8am. Like the first day I made a navigation stuff up right off the bat, a longer one this time (sigh), 4km extra to the day riding, which later on I could have done without.

I started at the green dot and went downwards, then I turned left not right so headed straight back into town. Only when I crossed the bridge did I realise my stuff up.

My estimate for the day was that it would be about 66km, maybe add say 5km to that for padding into towns to accommodation (as the route distances were more center of town to center of town) the day came to 86.62km so with the other 4km mess at the start I did about 10-12km more than I should have .. more later on that.

Was a little overcast that day so made going a bit easier. The route was a little boring here and there, until I got more south. I was now on the Romantische Straße (Romantic Road) route which was good as it was main signs that I could follow (you'd think anyway).

Cloudy morning so had to make my own sunshine (with the sign post added too)

There was a pretty crazy hill just after Kinsau which was about 8% average gradient, so I walked up that a bit and I don't mind admitting that.

I stopped at Hohenfurch at the one REWE for lunch and had a lekker bratwurst roll (I think it's called that anyway) and cherry coke for lunch. I knew I had to take the bottle back in for my pfand (deposit back).

Headed onward and stopped at a town called Lamprecht to take some photos of the sign (for a friend, who's surname is that), also managed to get some water there at the one pub.

It was after that when things got a bit messed up navigation wise. I totally took the wrong path somehow (I think so anyway) and ended up on some serious wrong rocky farm roads, felt like they went on forever and not at all what the bike was suited for.

Wrong road !!!

Thankfully I managed to push through that and got back on the correct path/bike lane/road eventually. I was super pleased when I started seeing signs to Schwangau. I was even happier when I saw Schloss Neuschwanstein appear in the distance then I knew I was almost at my destination. I got in at about 17:15. This was the hardest day I had done on the bike so far, that's even counting the 99er and Cape Town Cycle Tour races.

My Hotel: Haus Moni

I had finished the Airbnb stays and was now in hotels/pensions. Schwangau was the only one that didn't have breakfast included as it was a bit expensive as an add-on. I stored my bike in the bike shed and relaxed for a bit and then decided to head out for a walk. The weather was looking iffy for the following day so I wanted to go and get in some basic sightseeing even though I was super tired.

Spent a few hours of sightseeing where I walked to Hohenschwangau to look round and take pictures of the caste from below. The weather was closing in a bit so I headed back towards Schwangau. Looked for this one beer garden I had been recommended to check out, didn't see a sign of it, so went somewhere else, called Schloss Brauhaus.

Had myself a lekker local beer and ordered dinner. Each time I'm in Germany I try and have a Pork Knuckle, this was where I had that, was served in a beer sauce with potato dumplings. OMG was it amazingly good !!

All gone !! I was tempted to lick the plate clean

I think I deserved it considering the days events. While I was having my drink/dinner it only but chucked it down with rain, was super super hard. By the time I finished off it had eased big time and was only a very faint drizzle on the way home which was only 1km or so away max.
