Was a bit of an overcast day so needed my jacket on initially. I headed out from Schwangau toward Füssen, I did a slight detour through the town just to look at a few sights ... and also cause I wasn't sure of the 100% best route.

Stopped pretty soon after the start to check out the stunning Lechfall (on the Lech River).

Not soon after that I left Germany and was then in Austria, with the obligatory stop at the sign to take a picture indicating that.

Gravel uphill drag

Headed through Reutte had my normal navigation niggle, only about 1km down a road then checked the map and saw it was wrong so corrected. I was 50/50 as to which way to turn when I was in the town, sometime from the map with the orientation it wasn't 100% clear and I swear sometimes the bike markers are hidden or missing.

About 20km into the day ride I had a planned stop at the highline179. Their site is pretty cool to check out as has a interactive panorama and other info. I'll paste from their page some info:
"History meets innovation" is undoubtedly the best description for this unique setting and spectacular view with a thrill. In the midst of one of the most important fortified areas of Central Europe, surrounded by wonderful scenery and imposing mountain chains, highline179 connects the castle ruins of Ehrenberg with Fort Claudia. Due to highline179's narrow and open design, visitors experience a remarkable floating sensation. At a height of 114 m and with a 360' panorama the visit is really a unique experience. Daring visitors have been proving their courage by conquering highline179 since November 2014. In December 2014, the rope suspension bridge gained a place in the Guinness Book of Records as "Longest Tibet-style footbridge"

Approaching the bridge

I locked up the bike and went to book a ticket. You can buy a ticket to go up/down in the funicular or walk up. I decided on the walk.

I spoke nicely to the people at the info center/ticket office and they let me stash my bike stuff there while I went on. That was nice as it would have been pretty hard to do what I wanted otherwise. Was a very steep walk to get to the top where the bridge started. I was then through the turnstile and onto the bridge itself.

About to cross the bridge

OMG was it high and was pretty overcast and windy, the bridge was swaying big time. Brave kids were also jumping and felt to be making that worse, you can see in the videos how it was. Spent about 1.5hrs there and then headed on.

Leaving the Bridge area

I had paused my Strava manually when I started the bridge activities, as per the process I described when making the maps. I then forgot to start it again when I started the ride, so lost a short bit of the ride including record of a decent hill. Thankfully I remembered not much later.

Getting closer

The scenery generally was much nicer now I was in the Alpine/Zugspitze area. Went through Lermoos and then alongside a really stunning golf course location and could see Ehrwald ahead of me. It was dead easy to find my hotel once I was in town as it was right in the center. Checked into the hotel at about 16:00 and offloaded my stuff in the room and stored the bike in their bike room. Generally hotels have a room for that; in winter it is a ski room and in summer a bike room. They have heated areas/poles and stuff for boots and kit for the winter times.

Went for a bit of a wander around the town, being a Sunday pretty much everything was closed, even supermarkets close on Sunday so I had to find another place for dinner, looked at the restaurants and they were so-so looking and pretty pricey. I found a place and got a nice Doner Kebab and had a radler for my dinner, filled me up nicely and was pretty tasty. Wandered around town a bit and then called it a day and relaxed a bit in the room.
